Florida has long been a dream destination for people looking to escape harsh winters. Florida offers a lovely warm climate all year round, world-renowned attractions, affordability and a great selection of properties to choose from!
If you're thinking of coming down to Florida, here's our guide for some of the great things the Orlando area can offer you as a snowbird.
Great location. Orlando is well placed in Central Florida. It's accessible via Orlando international airport, you can get to either coast in about an hour's drive to enjoy stunning beaches and Orlando itself is on your doorstep with world-class restaurants, attractions, events and activities. If you prefer to avoid the city center, there are numerous towns around Orlando to consider staying in like Clermont.
Weather. The Sunshine State won't let you down. With it's sub-tropical climate and high temperature's all year round, this is one of the very best reason's to visit Florida for the winter.
Golfer's paradise. With around 150 golf courses, many designed by the best pro golfers in the world, Florida truly is a golfer's dream. Orlando itself has Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Reunion Resort and Golf Club and Championsgate to name a few.
Culture. Throughout the year there are festivals going on and great museums to visit including the Orlando Science Center and Museum of Art.
Shopping. Orlando has some of the very best malls and shopping outlets in Florida. The Mall at Millenia, The Florida Mall and the Premium Outlets are all on your doorstep.
Theme Parks. The world famous Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studios, Sea World and so many other attractions offer endless hours of fun and entertainment.
Nature. Whether it's exploring the national parks or going fishing, there is an abundance of choice. Experience the beauty of Florida's wildlife.
The beaches. Take a day trip to the beach and enjoy over 825miles of Florida's stunning coastline. On the East coast you can head over to the incredible Kennedy Space Center and on the West Coast, the Tampa area has some of Florida's most beautiful beaches.
Florida and Orlando in particular is an ideal destination for snowbirds. Many vacation rental homes offer special snowbird rates to take advantage of. The only thing is once you're here... it'll be hard to leave!
